Story
This past December I was suddenly diagnosed with a type of blood cancer called Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. It was gutting news to receive, but the team at University College London Hospital (UCLH) was there for me from day one, rooting me on and providing me with the knowledge, strength, and courage to take on the fight.
Every step of the way, the haematology department provided Summer and I with incredible care and the certainty that things were going to be made right. The lows of chemo were low, but the doctors and nurses at UCLH provided compassionate care and advice to ensure we were looked after around the clock.
Three and a half months from the day we were first given the diagnosis, we walked out of the UCLH chemo ward with the biggest smiles on our faces. I’m now cancer-free (!!!) and it’s no exaggeration to say that the UCLH team saved my life.
Summer and I could not be more grateful to all the nurses, doctors, administrators and care specialists so we’ve decided to run with them on TEAM HAEM! Thank you for considering a donation to this charity so that others with cancer can receive the level of care and support that they deserve. We can’t wait to celebrate and toast to life with you in person soon!
