Story
We are raising money in support of UK Smart Recovery, a charity that meant a great deal to Alex. As a family, we feel that helping others in his name is more meaningful than receiving flowers at the funeral.
Alex was only 27. His loss is tragic and deeply unfair. Yet, in our grief, we hold tightly to the memories of his kindness—his warm laughter, his humour, and the moments when his generous heart shone through. Those moments were real, and they are the legacy he leaves with us.
Alex faced addiction and depression. These were parts of his journey, but they were not the whole of who he was. Addiction and depression are illnesses—not choices, not failures. He wanted to get well, and he worked hard with Smart Recovery over the past year. We honour his effort, his courage, and his determination by supporting the organisation that supported him.
With love & thanks, Judy, Dan & Jess xx
