2023 New York City Marathon · 5 November 2023 ·

PDLF was started in 1983 to provide equipment and facilities to enable patients to have the best possible treatment and supportive care locally. This has included three new units and facilities to enable stem cell transplantation and a molecular biology laboratory in Plymouth.

Story

Over the past couple of years the amazing team at Plymouth hospital has helped to diagnose, treat and support someone very dear to me as they battled through Myeloma (a form of bone marrow cancer).

I have so much admiration for this person who selflessly chose to trial a new drug treatment with untested results, in the hope that positive results will lead to a better treatment for those in the future.

She has been mentally and physically tested to her limits but has shown determination, will power and strength to come out the other side and for that I am so grateful.

I will be heading off for a jog (quite a long one, 26.2 miles to be exact) around New York on Sunday 5th November to raise money for the Plymouth And District Leukaemia Fund. Here is some info on the great work they've done and continue to do.

If you have any spare money to donate it would mean a lot to me and the beneficiaries of the Plymouth And District Leukaemia Fund.
