Story
Running for Grandad Den!
My grandad was a wonderful man, the most kind, giving and selfless person I’ve ever met. He’d do anything for anyone with a smile on his face. A keen gardener, we spent decades eating beautiful fruit and vegetables from his garden. And spent many a school holiday playing in the garden and driving Nanny Margaret nuts 😁
It was so upsetting to see this great man broken down and finally taken by Alzheimer’s. It started with some amusing memory loss, right through to not even being able to feed himself. Such is the severity of this awful disease.
I’ve always had the London marathon on my bucket list. I’ve been trying to enter for the last 20 years. Now I’m old, knackered and my knees are shot - I’m in!! It is fitting then that I take this opportunity to raise some money and raise awareness about Alzheimer’s and dedicate this effort to Grandad Den ❤️
Training has already started, I’ll be posting updates soon.
Please could you all support me and give generously - if only to see me suffering! 🤣
Thank you 😘
