Welcome to Tunstall’s Fundraising Page!

Tunstall is one of the residential children’s homes run by the North East Autism Society. Here, our dedicated team creates a warm, supportive ‘home from home’ environment for four children who are autistic or have complex additional needs.

Empowering autistic children and young people to live happy, healthy, and fulfilled lives is at the heart of everything we do. Our 24-hour, bespoke support services are tailored to the individual needs of each child in our care, ensuring they thrive in a setting that truly understands them.

This year, we’ve set ourselves a big goal—to give the children an unforgettable holiday experience and invest in some fantastic new sensory equipment. It’s a challenge, but one we’re excited to take on together through a full calendar of fundraising events!

Taking four children and their support staff on holiday requires significant resources, but we believe these amazing young people deserve every moment of joy and discovery. That’s where your support makes a world of difference.

What’s in Store?

We’ve got lots of exciting activities planned throughout the year:

• 🍰 Bake Sales: We’ll be busy in the kitchen hosting regular bake sales—stay tuned for dates and locations!

• 🧸 Car Boot Sales: We’re collecting donations to fill our tables. If you have any unwanted items, please consider donating to our cause.

• 👚 Pier-to-Pier Pyjama/Fancy Dress Walk: We’ll be walking from South Shields to Roker in style! Date to be confirmed based on the weather—updates will be posted here.

• 🥾 Cleveland Hike (17th May): A 10-mile loop through the beautiful North Pennines, with an elevation gain of 1,625ft.

• 🏊 Great North Swim (21st June): Alex and Rae will be taking part in this open water swimming event at Lake Windermere, covering a distance of one mile to raise funds and awareness for our cause.

• 🏃 The Great North Run (7th September): Our very own Alex is lacing up and hitting the course!

• 🎟️ Raffles & Tombolas: Plenty of chances to win fun prizes while supporting a great cause.

• 🌞 Summer Fayre (24th May): We’re hosting the Summer Fayre at Beckwith Mews, Seaham St, New Silksworth, SR3 1HN. Entry is £1, and there’s lots of stalls including food, crystals, fudge, cake, jewellery, table top sales, tombolas, and more!

• 🌞 Charity Ball (16th August): Join us for the Charity Ball at the Roker Hotel. Tickets are £30 each, included in the price is a 3-course meal, drinks reception, and a night of entertainment.
