πββοΈ BMW Berlin Marathon 2026 β Running for Spinal Cord Injury Research
I am running the BMW Berlin Marathon 2026 to raise money for Spinal Cord Injury Research!
There are an estimated 105,000 people in the UK living with a Spinal Cord Injury (SCI). Living with an SCI often means a lifetime of health and care costs, as well as the constant threat of secondary complications.
Spinal Research is the UKβs leading medical charity focused on the repair and restoration of the spinal cord. Their mission is simple but powerful: to beat paralysis.
Unlike many charities, Spinal Research receives no government funding β every project is powered by donations. With your help, we can #CureParalysis.
Why this cause matters to me π
One of my closest lifelong friends, Madi, was in a car accident in January 2025 and is now paralyzed from the chest down. I have witnessed her incredible strength as she navigates a new life, while also learning firsthand about the lack of effective treatments and therapies for spinal cord injuries.
As someone who works in research, I know that dollars drive discoveries. This marathon is my tiny way of contributing to the search for breakthroughs that could change lives.
Running all of the World Majors has been on my list ever since I somehow tricked myself into loving to run, and I'm grateful that I get to kick this goal off supporting a cause I care so deeply about Iβm running in honor of Madi.
How you can help π
Over the next few months, I'll be working towards my fundraising target of $2,500, and hopefully smashing it with your support. Even a small contribution can help move the needle in spinal cord research and create more opportunities for Madi and others to pursue the lives they want on their own terms.
Your support would mean the world. If you feel moved to contribute or share the fundraiser, Iβd be incredibly grateful. Every bit of momentum helps push this research forward.
