Story
I have decided to run the Brighton Marathon and thought that all the pain of the training and the event could be an opportunity to contribute to the British Red Cross. I have heard over the years the vital work that they do from the time my sister spent working there with refugees and asylum seekers in Yorkshire and Glasgow. After fleeing war and persecution the British Red Cross plays a vital role in supporting these people overcome challenges and hardships. Whether that be in assisting them in reuniting them with their families after years apart or the destitution that people face in the asylum process, to mention a few examples of the work that they do.
Every pound donated will make a huge difference to help those affected by crisis:
> £19.25 could help provide a refugee or asylum seeker an hour of one-to-one support in tracking their lost relatives, helping them to reconnect after being separated
> £75 could keep 150 survivors of a fire at a block of flats warm, while we help them find emergency accommodation
> £100 could provide 12,000 chlorine tablets, ensuring people affected by the conflict in Ukraine have access to safe, clean water.
Any donation you can give would be much appreciated!
