Alexander's fundraiser for Mencap

Alexander Sixsmith is raising money for Mencap

Team: Beech Hall Mencap Marvels 2025

Junior English Channel Relay Swim

Mencap wants a world where people with a learning disability gain an equal right to choice opportunity and respect. We believe that support for the families and carers of people with a learning disability is vital to achieving our vision

Story

The original piece from Channel 5 News, our coverage starts at 43 minutes. 🎥🏊‍♂️🎬

This swim is Alexander's way of contributing to Mencap’s work, to ensure that people with a learning disability can get the support they need. Your support of Alexander will make a real difference to the lives of some of the most vulnerable members of our society here in the UK.

"The true measure of any society can be found in how it treats its most vulnerable members” -Gandhi.

After months of rigorous training, 13 year old Alexander will take on the formidable English Channel where he will face cold waters, strong currents, and potential hazards such as fishing equipment and jellyfish in one of the world's busiest shipping lanes. The 6 person relay team swim can take anywhere between seven and twenty-seven hours to complete

Your donation ensures that people with a learning disability in the UK can lead happy and healthy lives. The money Alexander hopes to raise will support Mencap’s essential work, such as the campaigning efforts by which Mencap fights for the rights of people with a learning disability.

Thank you for your support. Together, let's try to get Alexander to £2,000
