This is a very last minute fundraiser in the sense that I hadn't planned to raise any money - I just wanted to do a 93 mile hike in memory of my Grandma (known to many others as Ann Johnston!). My Grandma would have been turning 93 on Tuesday 22nd July and I wanted to do something wholesome (and slightly challenging!) in honour of her life - her spirit and determination - and as some sort of thank you for everything that she did for, and gave to me until her passing last year.

I'll be starting from home (Newquay) on Saturday morning and will be walking and camping along the coast path over 4 days until I reach 93 miles (somewhere in North Devon!) There'll probably be a few updates on my Instagram/Strava accounts for anyone that follows me on either of those platforms and is interested to see my progress!

I haven't done a multi-day hike since doing the Duke of Edinburgh award in college (well over a decade ago), but I'm looking forward to testing my legs (and back!), and having some the time by myself in the elements on the coast path for a bit of reflection 'n all that!

My Grandma absolutely loved hedgehogs and, over the last several years of her life when she became less mobile, she got a lot of joy from observing and keeping a watch over some regular visitors to her front garden. Up until the end of her life, she took a lot of pride in relentlessly knitting all sorts of amazing things - hats, scarves, teddys etc - in order to raise money for various causes that were close to her heart. Cornwall based Prickles and Paws Hedgehog Rescue were one of those charities - which is why I've chosen to try and raise a bit of money for them and their amazing work (check them out here - https://www.pricklesandpaws.org/).

I know times are hard for many people and that there are so many worthy causes at any given time so I'm not expecting miracles, but, if this cause speaks to you at all, and you have any amount to spare, it would mean a lot to me and would have meant a lot to my Grandma/Ann as well (and the hedgehogs will definitely appreciate it!).
