London Summer Walk 2025 · 23 August 2025 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I began a monthly donation to the Alzheimer's Society when Terry Pratchett first publicised his "embuggerance". As a condition it terrified me.

Then in 2016, my own father was diagnosed with it and suddenly what was a largely theoretical fear suddenly became very real and personal. It was a condition he struggled with until his passing in 2018.

As those who have met me will know, I am not, and never will be, a runner. Walking a marathon though is something that I can do and a good cause adds an extra impetus to help with each step as the miles tick by.

So on 23rd August 2025 I will be walking 26 miles (42km) around London on a walk organised by Ultra Challenge. Any support you can offer will be greatly received.
