Lands End to John o'Groats

It Gets Better UK exists to uplift, empower, and connect lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer youth around the UK. Growing up isn’t easy, especially when you are trying to affirm and assert your sexual orientation and/or gender identity, but, the good news is, no one has to do it alone.

Story

I'm walking the virtual distance from Land's End to John o'Groats over the course of a year to raise funds for It Gets Better UK, a charity dedicated to empowering, inspiring and uplifting LGBTQ+ youth.

Studies show that LGBTQ+ young people are twice as likely to feel lonely and more than twice as likely to worry daily about their mental health compared to their non-LGBTQ+ peers.

Additionally, 55% of LGBTQ+ 11 to 18-year-olds are worried about their mental health on a daily basis, compared to just 26% of their non-LGBTQ+ peers.

A third (31%) of LGBTQ+ young people have self-harmed, compared to just 9% of non-LGBTQ+ young people.

Seven in ten (68%) LGBTQ+ young people have experienced suicidal thoughts and feelings, compared to 29% of young people who are not LGBTQ+.

Your donation will directly support It Gets Better UK's initiatives, helping to create a world where every LGBTQ+ young person can thrive. Thank you for supporting me and this important cause!
