Doctors in Distress works to reduce stigma in the medical profession around mental health. We provide faciliated support groups for all medical professionals to prevent the worsening of issues related to mental health and enable each participant to share their experiences and support their peers.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

It is apparent that mental health, something that we are all aware of, is not talked about enough both in the news and in general. Talking to many doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals over the years, it has become clear that now more than ever medics are struggling to cope with day-to-day life within the NHS. Dealing with increasing workloads, risk of unemployment, and the aftermath of the COVID pandemic, it's of no wonder that a survey done by the BMA found that 80% of doctors, especially those in residency, are at high/very high risk of burnout (see below).

However, there is a silver lining to all this, and there are charities out there with the aim of supporting healthcare professionals through a very difficult moment in their medical careers. To raise awareness for these charities I will be ascending Mont Blanc this summer via the Trois Monts route, a 4000m traverse.

All funds raised will go to the charity Doctors in Distress. If you would like to donate there will be a link to do so on this page.
