One in four women will experience domestic abuse at some point in their lifetime and on average one woman is killed every 5 days in England and Wales by a current or former partner.
Refuge is the largest single provider of specialist services to survivors of domestic, sexual and gender-based abuse and runs the freephone, 24-hour National Domestic Abuse Helpline that provides the first step to women escaping abuse.
Our team of drivers will be travelling from all parts of the UK to Raamsdonksveer in The Netherlands, between 9-11 May 2025. Hopefully, we will be travelling back home again, but this is by no means assured.
Each driver will be behind the wheel of a vehicle that is either past its sell by date, unsuited to modern traffic conditions, cranky, crusty, uncomfortable or downright rubbish. Most of them will be all of the above.
We are attending the fabulous EMWalhalla event; a gathering of automotive rejects from across Europe. Representing the UK community of motoring flotsam, our team are raising awareness of the important work done by Refuge to help those in need of their expertise.
Thank you for supporting Refuge and cheering us on through the UK, France, Belgium and The Netherlands (and back…)
