Story
Hi!
This September I'm cycling over 300km from London to Paris to raise money for Furnishing Futures.
I may have said to you in the past "I'm not funding your hobby" BUT let me propose why this is different...
1) I hate cycling and I'm quite rubbish at it (not modest I once started 2nd out of the water at a triathlon and was bottom quartile by the end of the cycle) so it's definitely not a hobby. I will shamelessly come last on this ride...
2) More importantly, this charity does amazing work that gives women and children a real chance at independence, stability and a beautiful home which they can build a future from. It's such important work that is truly very special and important to me.
Furnishing Futures is an East London charity that supports survivors of domestic abuse who are rebuilding their lives. They transform empty, unfurnished social housing into safe, healing, beautifully designed homes. Many survivors are rehoused with no flooring, beds, furniture or clothes washing facilities which increases the likelihood of returning to their previous homes. Furnishing Futures work brings dignity, stability, and hope to people starting over and every donation helps change a life.
Thank you so much for your support — let's cycle through du pain to Paris! 🚴♀️🚴🚴♂️🚴♀️
