Story

RUN COMPLETED.

Simba completed his run around Port Meadow in Oxford on Saturday, the 29th of March at approximately 1:00 pm. He ran 8.8 kilometres (or 5.5 miles) instead of 4 kilometres to raise money for the Cotswold Wildlife Park. Due to poor internet reception, he took the wrong turn and thereby ran double the initial goal set.

Simba considers the run to be an important milestone in his life not just for the achievement of completing the run but also the fact that his success enabled him to help to support the animals at Cotswold Wildlife Park while also giving something back to his community.

Well done, Simba!

Alexander Farr, often called Simba, will run 4 kilometers solo to raise money for the Cotswold Wildlife Park. The run will take place on Saturday, the 29 March at 11:00 am. The location is to be announced.

Simba, a ten year old boy in year 5 at Summer Fields Prep School, has a deep love and fascination for animals, nature and conservation, in particular a deep appreciation and respect for the diversity in nature. When he was 8 years old, Simba swam a mile by himself to raise money for Tiggywinkles Wildlife Hospital. Now two years later, he will run 4 kilometers (2.5 miles) to support the animals at the Cotswold Wildlife Park, which he has visited regularly since he was a very young child and which has been so important to him.

The Trust raises funds for the conservation of wildlife and natural habitats, in the UK and worldwide. The Trust also aims to educate and inform the public about conservation and the natural world. Organisations supported by us are carefully vetted and monitored by our trustees to ensure that any money we donate is primarily spent on conservation activities rather than administration. We spend our funds supporting other organisations and charities whose aims coincide with ours.
