Story

20th November 2018, my mum tragically passed away. I was 13 years old. She had bowel cancer and fought with it for years. Then in November 2018 she caught pneumonia, and her body could not fight it. She spent her last few days in the Marie curie cancer hospice in Penarth, Cardiff. Here she was cared for and looked after until she peaceful passed on, so this charity has a special place in my heart❤️

Recently, 15th December 2025, I also lost my father due to a bleed on the brain. With the death of both parents at such a young age, it has been extremely difficult. So this has sparked something in me to try make someone else’s experience that little bit easier.

My Father struggled with a smoking addiction causing an increasing risk of a stroke. I will also be doing a sober 6 months for the Change Grow Live charity to honour him.

My mother was a strong, beautiful and kind woman who has shaped the woman I am today. She enjoyed being outdoors and going for walks which is something she passed onto me and I now also cherish. So this walk is in memory of her and also the millions of others out there who have lost their lives, loved ones or a friend to this awful disease.

If you relate to this, please donate to the cause as that small amount of money can be make a huge difference in someone else’s life. There are a lot of people affected by this, so let’s try help as much as we can!

Marie curies purpose:
