RMHC CTMA provides families with a true home away from home while their children receive critical medical care. They offer far more than a place to stay. They provide comfort, stability, meals, and a sense of normalcy during some of the most overwhelming moments a family can face.

Before becoming a nurse practitioner, I spent five years as a pediatric oncology nurse. During that time, I cared for children and families navigating long hospital stays, intensive treatments, and life-altering diagnoses. While I did not work directly with Ronald McDonald House, I saw experiences like it every day. Families who depended on strong community resources to stay close, remain supported, and keep their lives moving forward during unimaginable stress.

My patients are my why. They have shaped me not only as a clinician, but as a person. They have taught me what it means to live fully, to be brave in uncertainty, and to embrace moments that are challenging, meaningful, and joyful all at once.

Now, as a Doctor of Nursing Practice, I continue to care for patients and their families at a deeper level. I have a broader view of how critical community-based resources like Ronald McDonald House truly are. I see the profound difference these supports make in patient outcomes, family well-being, and the ability to heal beyond the hospital walls.

That is why on March 27th, I am stepping completely outside of my comfort zone and competing in Dancing Under the Stars. I have never danced a day in my life. Inspired by my patients and the lessons they have taught me about courage, resilience, and living life to the fullest, I am saying yes to something exciting, uncomfortable, and purpose-driven.

Your donation helps RMHC CTMA continue providing housing, meals, and comfort to families in need. It also motivates me as I spend this winter rehearsing and preparing for this competition, knowing every step is in honor of the patients and families who continue to inspire me.
