Story
I’m running the 2026 London Marathon for the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust, a charity close to my heart.
When my older brother Jack was just six years old, he was diagnosed with Burkitt’s lymphoma. It was an incredibly difficult time for our whole family. Jack underwent 12 months of intensive treatment at Addenbrooke’s Hospital. Thankfully, he was eventually given the all clear, and we will always be grateful for the care he received.
After finishing treatment, Jack was supported by the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust, who helped him begin to rebuild his confidence and recover emotionally. Jack attended three sailing trips with the Trust, which he often speaks of very fondly. I've included a photo from one of the two residential trips Jack attended with the Trust; this was taken in 2015 at Bradwell.
Why the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust?
Cancer changes everything, especially for young people. The Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust supports young people aged 8–24 living through and beyond cancer, helping them navigate life after treatment.
When treatment ends, many are left feeling isolated, anxious, or unsure of what ‘normal’ looks like anymore. The Trust gives them a chance to connect with others who understand, through free sailing adventures and outdoor experiences that help them rediscover who they are and who they can become.
By raising money for the Trust, I hope to help more young people like Jack access these incredible experiences.
Why the London Marathon?
As a keen runner, I am excited to be taking on the 2026 London Marathon and to raise money for this amazing charity and give back to the organisation that supported my brother during his recovery.
I will share training updates along the way, please follow along and cheer me on!
If you’re able to donate, no matter how big or small, it will go directly towards helping more young people take that next step beyond cancer.
Thank you so much for your support
