Hello everyone.

As some of you might know, my wonderful, Star Wars nerd, cousin Jack has a special condition called Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

His Super-hero condition means he gets to use some pretty cool equipment to get around, including an electric powered bike and a really cool wheelchair. As Jack grows big and goes to big school next year, he’ll need even more cool and special equipment to allow him to access schooling and just generally help with mobility.

So not only will his lovely Mum and Dad be buying every Lego set under the sun (he LOVES Lego) but they will also need to get new equipment to support him day to day. Although he’s still keen on his feet now, there might be a time where Jack will have to count on his mobility aids more regularly, and we need to make sure he’s all prepared for that.

Duchenne is a part of Jack, just the same way Star Wars is and Lego is, and chips and sausage for tea is!

For Jack, I have decided to run the Chester Half Marathon AND the Chester Marathon to raise as much money as I can to alleviate some of the financial burden of the future.

Of course Jack can still always count on me to buy him new Lego…
