Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On 6th April last year, the worst possible nightmare any parent can experience happened to me.
My beautiful Ayda aged 3 at the time is autistic and non-verbal. She managed to slip away from her Grandma, and went missing. Grandma immediatly called the police reported her missing. Within minutes officers were at our home searching for her.
Ayda was in the lake opposite our house. She was face down submerged, her nappy kept her afloat. The police pulled her out and immediately gave CPR to her lifeless little body.
The stars aligned for Ayda that day because my next door neighbours amazing sister was visiting just happened to be a band 7 respiratory nurse. Janet led the CPR. The officer who pulled her out happened to be a professional swimmer.
The air ambulance arrived and together with paramedics they managed to get Ayda intubated and stable enough to get to alder hey.
After 3 days in ICU Ayda made a miraculous recovery and came away with no brain damage. We were told to prepare for the worst. It was an absolute miracle.
If the amazing heroes who saved her didnt act as fast as they did and give her the best care, Ayda may have been severely brain damaged or worse she wouldn't have made it.
I am doing a skydive to raise money for the North West Air Ambulance. They don't recieve any funding from the NHS or the government. They rely solely on donations.
Without donations they wouldn't have been able to help save my Ayda and I can't thank them enough.
Please donate.
