Story
My grandma was recently diagnosed with dementia, and it has been heartbreaking to see the changes this illness has brought into her life and the lives of everyone who loves her. Dementia doesn’t just affect the person living with it — it affects entire families, and watching someone you care about slowly lose parts of themselves is something no one should have to go through.
To do my part, I’ll be taking part in a walk to raise awareness and much-needed funds for dementia research and support services. The money raised will go towards helping families like mine and towards finding better treatments and, hopefully one day, a cure.
This cause is deeply personal to me, and I would be so grateful for any support you can give. Whether it’s a donation, sharing my fundraiser, or simply keeping us in your thoughts, it all makes a difference.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me honour my grandma and stand with everyone affected by dementia. 💜
Dementia is the UKs biggest killer. Someone develops it every three minutes and currently there is no cure. We know it is scary but we must confront the biggest health & social care challenge of our time. We owe it to the 1 million people across the UK currently living with dementia to campaign for change, whilst providing vital day-to-day support. By taking part and raising money, or donating to someone who is, you are helping to do this.
Once you donate, JustGiving sends your money directly to Alzheimer's Society you don't need to do anything and it's the most efficient way to fundraise. So, who will you walk for? #MemoryWalk
