Children First is Scotland’s national children’s charity. We stand up for every child because all children should have a safe childhood.

We protect children from harm and support them to recover from trauma and abuse through our national and local services.

Our Story:

Never would I have believed the road my life would have taken when my oldest became an adult and a mum. Lucas was placed permanently into my care, supported by David and Jessica , with Dominique being the substitute Mummy in those early respite needs in 2018 as a 2 year old. I truly believe that without all these people and the wonderful Louise Ferguson from Children 1st I wouldn’t have coped.

Now it’s our turn to pay back and add to the funds needed daily by the charity to help other children and families. When we had nothing for him, not even a packet of nappies, Children 1st got him his first ever bed! A blue wooden little bed that he still talks about today. Lucas has his little quirks, his all encompassing adhd/ ASD diagnosis, his global developmental delay and his wonderful positive attitude to life. Nothing is ever negative and no matter what other children do to him he finds a positive spin and likes to educate them on their deeds… totally endearing!!

Jessica is going to abseil down the side of Leith Distillery on the 11th of May, terrified and panicked about it but she is overcoming her fears to support C1st.

We would love your support, anything at all, but to even be able to do the abseil she has to raise at least £200 so let’s get together and get it done.
