Story
This September ten Brindishe Manor parents will be running The Big Half to fundraise for the school and I’m excited to be one of them.
The school staff and PSFA continuously work extremely hard to create a school environment where all children can thrive. However, the school is always in need of support for creative equipment, reading spaces & material as well as outdoor areas to create the spaces children need to feed their curiosity, explore and grow. Aside from this, I’m particularly keen to raise funds for better exercise options for the children, knowing the impact of sports on their mental health and self-confidence, particularly in times where hormones are changing. Having set up a running group for parents and children earlier this year, I have seen the joy all of us get from getting together to exercise and be part of a community and achieve together, whilst enjoying the outdoors. I hope and believe that parents running will not only raise vital funds, but also inspire young runners.
The Big Half is London's inclusive community half marathon, on Sunday, 6 September 2026. The 13.1-mile closed-road route starts near Tower Bridge, winds through the host boroughs of Tower Hamlets, Southwark, Lewisham, and Greenwich, and finishes beside the iconic Cutty Sark.
