Alex's fundraiser for Meningitis Research Foundation

London Marathon 2026 · 26 April 2026 · Start fundraising for this event
Hi, I’m Alex, and in 2026 I’ll be running the London Marathon to raise funds for the Meningitis Research Foundation.
When I was just 20 months old, I contracted Hib meningitis and septicaemia. I was incredibly lucky to survive — thanks to a doctor who took my symptoms seriously and ensured I received treatment early. That decision saved my life.
Since then, I’ve been fortunate to grow up healthy, but I’ve never taken that for granted. Many others aren’t as lucky, and that’s why I’m taking on this challenge: to raise awareness, fund research, and support those affected by meningitis and septicaemia.
I’ve always been a sporty person, but running a marathon is something I’ve never attempted before. It’s going to be a big challenge, but it’s nothing compared to what so many people with meningitis go through.
Any donation, big or small, will make a real difference. Thank you so much for your support.
