Story
In 2020 my mum, Kim, was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. We had no idea how as a family we were going to get through this difficult time as my mum was always our rock. It was now time for us to take care of her.
My dad, Tim gave up his job to become my mums full time carer. With support from the Macmillian charity, we were as a family able to care for my mum at home and keep her comfortable during a time when the world had stopped. My mum peacefully passed away on May 13th 2021, at home with my dad by her side. She was so brave and is a greatly missed member of our family.
For this reason I will be running my first ever marathon at Milton Keynes on the 5th May 2025 in memory of my amazing mum.
Help me raise money for Macmillan cancer support and together we can give families in need the care and support they need throughout their diagnoses and end of life care. Macmillan helps support families affected by cancer providing practical, emotional, financial, and medical support.
By donating to Macmillan, you can help other families in need get the help and support they need when the time comes. More than 400,000 people are diagnosed with cancer each year in the UK. On average someone in the UK is diagnosed with cancer at least every 90 seconds. Charities rely on your donations to keep running and provide the support that we would want in our times of need.
