Story
I believe every addict is capable and deserving of recovery. Addiction touches so many lives, from the addict themself, to the partners of alcoholics, the children of gamblers, and the parents of drug addicts. And many more. Nobody has ever woken up and chosen to become an addict. It is something awful which slowly creeps into your life and takes hold before you even truly realise there is a problem. The impact it has on them and those around them may feel like it will never end, and they will never able to recovery. They may not know where to turn, who to speak to, or if they can do it. The existence of organisations like The Forward Trust is crucial in helping to break these cycles and provide people with a supported path to recovery.
The Forward Trust empowers people to break the often interlinked cycles of crime and addiction to move forward with their lives. For more than 25 years they have been working with people to build positive and productive lives, whatever their past. Their services have supported thousands of people to make positive changes and build productive lives with a job, family, friends and a sense of community.
