Story
Starting on July 14th, a friend and I will undertake a demanding 7-day ultra marathon in the Scottish Highlands—running 175 km over rugged mountainous terrain, carrying all our gear. Our journey will involve remote camping, seeking shelter in bothies, and resupplying with food and essentials every 48 hours or so.
This challenge is a tribute to the harrowing British retreat from Kabul in 1842, after which William Brydon was the sole survivor of 16,000 troops. He traversed Afghan mountain terrain, covering a distance similar to ours, to reach safety and deliver news of the disaster.
Supported in part by the Tony Edwards Travel Award, our goal is to raise funds for The Brain Tumour Charity. Your generosity can truly make a difference—bringing hope, support, and vital research to those affected by brain tumours.
