Story
My brother Harrison has been diagnosed with a brain tumour. Harrison has always been the kind of person who brings light wherever he goes — kind, funny, and endlessly caring. Recently, life has thrown him a challenge that has reminded us all just how strong and brave he truly is. As a family, we’ve come together to support Harrison through this time, but we want to do more — to help others who are facing similar battles too. That’s why this fundraiser will support Brainstrust, a wonderful charity that helps people and families affected by brain conditions with guidance, care, and hope. Every donation, big or small, means so much. It helps to ensure Harrison has everything he needs on his journey and supports an incredible cause making a real difference. Thank you for showing your love, kindness, and belief in Harrison — and for standing with us in hope.
In support of this troubling time, I am going to be playing 72 holes in 1 day (equivalent of 26 miles) as well hosting a golf day in the future in support to raise money for this amazing Brainstrust charity and to also show my dedication to this charity. If you are interested in taking part, please send me a private message to let me know. I will then share the details with you.
Furthermore, Harrison has a non-malignant tumour (Colloid Cyst, 14mm) which affects three in a million and will probably bring a long-term symptoms the treatment is invasive and life changing. Whilst the tumour is non-malignant, it is far from benign, it causes huge anxiety with potential for harm caused by surgery and the tumour itself. Harrison will have to achieve a removal by open brain surgery on Thursday 16th October.
Throughout our journey the Brainstrust has been invaluable providing personalised support and resources that helped us deal with life during the diagnosis the Brainstrust is a charity working with us to secure the best possible care for Harrison and they campaign to solve real issues. They understand what challenges people with a brain tumour face.
