I consider myself a recreational cyclist. I don't commute by bike, and I certainly don't race on one. I just enjoy riding. I have friends who are faster than me and ride farther than me, but I doubt if any enjoy it more than me. I thought this would be a good way to use something I enjoy to support GateWay Second Chance Foundation, an organization with a mission that I am passionate about. That mission is providing funding for the GateWay Boarding Academy in order to create a safe environment for at-risk boys and adolescents. The academy reading and math programs are proven to increase reading and math skills multiple grade levels.
