Since July 2024, Algeco colleagues have proudly supported Dementia UK as our chosen charity partner. By September 2025, we’ve raised £3,899 together — and we’re not stopping there.

Stronger Together: 5K to Change Lives

✨✨✨

This October, to mark World Mental Health Day (10th October), Algeco UK colleagues are taking part in a company-wide 5K Walk or Run Challenge in support of Dementia UK.

❤️ What’s it all about?

Our colleagues are pledging to walk or run at least 5km — whether in a single day, over a week, or throughout the month — to raise an additional £5,000 for Dementia UK.

This challenge is about more than fundraising. It’s about well-being. Getting active, whether walking or running, solo or with teammates, brings us together, boosts our mental health, and supports brain health. Staying socially connected and physically active are powerful ways to live well and may help reduce the risk of dementia.

💡Why this matters

Every three minutes, someone in the UK develops dementia. Nearly one million people are living with the condition, and thousands of families face the journey without the support they need. Dementia UK’s Admiral Nurses provide life-changing care and guidance — but demand far outstrips supply.

For many of us, this cause is deeply personal. Within our organisation, colleagues have lost loved ones to dementia or continue to support family members living with it. This campaign is our tribute to them, and to every family touched by dementia.

Your generosity could help fund:

- 468 helpline calls for families seeking urgent support

- 7 full days of face-to-face care from a specialist Admiral Nurse

- 1 week of community service from a new Admiral Nurse in an underserved area
