Story

السلام علیكم As-salāmu alaykum - “Peace be Upon You”

This campaign has been set up by the family of Tasmina Ali. Tasmina was a very loved individual who has touched the hearts of many and left a lasting impression on those who had come across her.

She was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, wife, teacher and Muslim. Tasmina was known to go above and beyond in everything she did and had dedicated her life to her family, her deen and teaching children at primary level.

Tasmina had a long held desire to visit the Holy City of Makkah to perform Ummrah with her family. After years of anticipation she was presented the opportunity and by the will of Allah arranged to perform Ummrah and took her family along with her. During her visit by the grace of Allah she was able to complete her Ummrah twice. The following day after completing her second Ummrah, Tasmina had performed Tawaf and this would be her final act of Ibadha. Shortly after this, Tasmina sadly passed following an allergic reaction to food. (Innah Lilah Hi Wa Innah Ilayhi Raaji'oon).

Following Tasmina’s death we were able to raise £10825 through Ummah Welfare Trust to build five water wells in Malawi; thank you to the kind donations made by friends and family. Our intention is to continue Sadaqah Jariyah to gain rewards for both Tasmina and all those who participate.

Tasmina’s death has left a great void in the hearts of many. Death is a reminder for us all and we should do good deeds on behalf of the deceased whilst also gaining rewards for ourselves. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “When a man dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things: Sadaqah Jariyah (continuing charity), knowledge which is beneficial, or a virtuous descendant who prays for him” [Muslim] - Riyad as-Salihin 1383

Building a mosque is a wonderful act of Sadaqah Jariyah. The reward for building a mosque is unending, and as long as people are benefiting from the mosque you’ve helped build then you will continue to receive rewards from Allah (SWT) even in the Hereafter.

The benefits of building a mosque are plain as day if you think of all the rewards you will receive for every single prayer made in your mosque.
