Ali's first Half Marathon - London Landmarks - Fundraising for Homeless charity The Passage

London Landmarks Half Marathon 2024 · 7 April 2024 ·
Never in my wildest dreams, when I first started running 5km, did I ever think I would sign up for a half marathon. After getting back into running for my mental health and truly enjoying it, I wanted to set myself a challenge and stay focused over the winter months to maintain the momentum and fitness I had built up.
I am fundraising for The Passage, a homeless charity. Their vision is of a society where street homelessness no longer exists, and everyone has a place to call home. The charity, based in the heart of Westminster, provides practical support and a wide range of services to transform the lives of people who are, or are at risk of, street homelessness. Every donation, no matter how big or small, enables The Passage to help individuals experiencing homelessness regain their confidence and hope for the future.
Having volunteered several times with my mum for a similar charity, I realised I couldn't quite fathom what it's really like living on the streets and not having a safe place to call home. It made me feel grateful for what I have and not take it for granted. Fundraising for this charity is important to me, and I believe it will hold me accountable for my training and (hopefully) running this half marathon in April. If you can donate for this vital cause and support me along this journey, I would be most appreciative.
