Update - 28th April 2025

We've just done Harrogate Triathlon! That's one down and two to go!

Thank you to everyone who has supported us so far with encouragement and donations. We've really been blown away!

As we've smashed our inital target of £3333, we've increased our goal to £6260. Shell was a huge fan of Lilo and Stitch and Stitch is known as experiment 626.

For our second triathlon in Cardiff on the 22nd of June we're going to be joined by our good friends Leah and Bella.

In July 2024, two and a half years after her diagnosis with brain cancer, Shell Tamlit sadly passed away in Wirral St John's Hospice.

Though Shell’s life was cut short, she lived a very full life with the time she had. She trained as a social worker, built countless lego models, ran a Forest 10k and travelled around the world to places such as Japan, Iceland, Mexico and Australia. Even through her illness she was able to travel to Disneyland Paris and meet her heroes including her beloved Stitch.

For the majority of her illness she was able to be at home, remaining active and getting support from Dan, her incredible husband, and other members of her family.

For the last two and a half weeks of her life she was moved to Wirral St John’s Hospice, where she was given round the clock care by the wonderful staff who were very accommodating of Shell’s constant stream of visitors - who broke all the rules about how many people could visit almost every day!

In memory of Shell and as a thank you to the Hospice, Ali (Shell's brother) and Laura (Ali’s partner) - sometimes joined by friends, such as the wonderful Leah and Lucy - are fundraising by taking part in three Triathlons across 2025. Prior to deciding to take on this challenge, both Ali and Laura hated the idea of running, have never swam more than casually in open water and have never taken part in any organised athletic event. EVER. So this will be interesting!

Shell on the other hand took part in 5 and 10k events - such as this forest run:

- Harrogate - April 27th

- Cardiff - June 22nd

- Barry Island - August 24th

We've an set an initial target of £3,333 to line in with the Trio of Tris vibe! We appreciate any support, whether financial or moral, that you’re able to give.
