Dementia touches so many of our lives, randomly targeting both young and old. Dementia Active Charity offer daily activity groups for people living with dementia in our local community.

The effects of young onset dementia have been far reaching for our mum Sue, severely shrinking her social circle and the activities she can enjoy. Dementia Active have provided an amazing life line - giving Mum a social club she loves where we know she will be safe and understood, while giving our Dad some much needed respite.

Working with a team of volunteers these fun sessions include topical discussions, gentle exercise, arts, crafts, singing and table games as well as proving a hot lunch and refreshments.

This worthwhile cause needs funds to allow the centre to offer help to more people living with dementia and as a result, provide valuable respite for their carer.
