On Friday 3rd March 2023, my lovely mother was diagnosed with breast cancer - grade 3. This meant it was fast spreading, she underwent her first operation on Wednesday 8th March 2023, just a few days after the diagnosis. The operation went well, however, it was discovered the cancer had spread to her lymph nodes. Therefore, she underwent her second operation on 29th March 2023. The sample was then sent to the USA, for a recently funded test where it determines if chemotherapy is required. Unfortunately, it came back that my mom does require chemo and then radio. However, this test is one of the examples of what Cancer Research funds from the money raised.

On Wednesday 12th July 2023, I am getting most of my hair cut off (bob length, not a fully shaven head!) which will be sent to the Little Princess Trust charity. Little Princess Trust is a charity that provides real hair wigs, free of charge to children and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or other conditions. The type of chemo my mom is having will result in hair loss so she will know exactly what these young people will be going through. I will personally be making a donation to Little Princess Trust charity.

With the help of you lovely people, I will also be raising money for Cancer Research UK. Until these recent events, I've not personally witnessed the amazing work that Cancer Research do and I'm looking forward to helping raise money for an amazing cause. Obviously, that wouldn't be possible without the generosity of people donating so a huge thank you in advance! However, I understand times are financially tough, so please don't feel obliged to donate, a simple message will also go a long way.
