I'm running the London Marathon in 2026 to raise money for the World Cancer Research Fund. It's a brilliant cause that is very close to my heart!

Working as a cancer research nurse, I'm so lucky to directly see the impact of charities like this on a daily basis. Over the past 10 years, cancer diagnosis and treatment have completely transformed. Life expectancies are constantly being extended, and novel therapies often have fewer side effects, which helps us to improve a patient's quality of life whilst on treatment.

The World Cancer Research Fund looks specifically at prevention. They help people make simple everyday changes to their diet, weight and physical activity, which can greatly reduce their risk of developing cancer in the future. I hope that their work can help prevent other families from losing loved ones through avoidable causes!

I'm not the most confident runner so I will be channelling my inner Simon Pegg energy, but I'm excited for the challenge and would be grateful for any support!
