Alice's Charity Horse Race at Ascot

Charity Horse Race · 12 July 2024
I now have just over 6 weeks until I will be competing in the Charity Race on the Property Race Day at Ascot.
I’m delighted to say I have recently passed a very challenging fitness test in Newmarket scoring 87% overall, which included holding a 4 minute plank. Full gallop ahead for the race, with a focus on maintaining my fitness and logging plenty of hours in the saddle.
I am extremely grateful to Heather Main who is kindly providing me with a horse and is allowing me to ride for her every weekend.
Another hurdle I must overcome before I can race is to raise £5,000 for the George Adamson Wildlife Preservation Trust. Founded in 1980, the trust has done incredible work in Kenya's Kora National Park and Tanzania's Mkomazi Game Reserve, rehabilitating ecosystems, aiding local communities and achieving National Park status in both reserves – both of which take a considerable amount of work and resource.
In 2020, the trust expanded its efforts partnering with Trust for African Schools to support four schools in Kora National Park, providing much-needed assistance in constructing classrooms, play areas, and secure fencing. The funds I raise through this charity race will have a direct and significant impact on the lives of these children. Just £3,600 can provide Kamaguru Primary School with a shaded outdoor area for lessons £5,500 will ensure Boka Secondary School is protected from wildlife with a new fence around the compound.

The Property Race Day is now entering its eighteenth year and has firmly established itself as the property industry's day at the races. PRD has raised in excess of £3.2 million to date for the selected charities including LandAid.

I would be hugely grateful for any support in order to help me reach my target – it certainly has been challenging and will continue to be so, but one I’m willing to accept.
Not to mention, everyone is welcome to attend a fun day at the races on Friday 12th July, tickets will be available on the below website.
