The National Literacy Trust aims to create a society in which everyone has the reading, writing, speaking and listening skills that they need to fulfil their own and, ultimately, the nation’s potential.

Story

This will be an inspiring wilderness endurance challenge, held over a long weekend, which incorporates a 35km dog sled race, 20km Nordic ski (interesting as I have only skied twice in my life), sleeping in a shed with no heating. Its -17 at day so who knows what it will be at night!

Did you know that 1 in 5 children in the UK do not own a book of their own? Reading and writing are fundamental skills that impact every aspect of life, from education and employment to health and well-being.The NLT works tirelessly to ensure that everyone has the literacy skills they need to succeed and thrive.

Every donation, no matter how big or small will help provide essential resources, support programs and create opportunities for children and adults to improve their literacy skills. Your support will help change lives by:

- Providing books and educational resources to children who need them most

- Supporting literacy programs in schools and communities

- Training teachers and educators to better support literacy development

-Empowering adults with the skills they need for everyday life and career opportunities
