Story
Claire was my dearest friend at school. Her tragic death has effected me so much this year. I turn 50 on 23rd October. If I had 1 wish blowing out my candles, it would be to have her back in this world. To hear her silly laugh , awful singing. ( best singer ever) and mental dance moves.
I don't need anything for my birthday but thought it would be nice to set up a side fundraiser linked to the Plymouth uni one. If you can mange to give a little towards the Claire Chick nursing fund, this will make my birthday so special. I still cant believe shes gone. When you meet someone like Claire who had such an impact on me growing up, loosing them hits deep.
Always my friend
Never ever forgotten.
So proud of you. Dr Claire Chick.
Claire was a dedicated nurse and a passionate advocate for student nurses, always championing opportunities and supporting the next generation of the profession.
With the support of her family, friends, and colleagues, this fund will continue Claire’s legacy by supporting student nurses through the Nursing Fund. It will provide travel bursaries, support for those facing financial or personal hardship, and other vital assistance to ensure that all nursing students — regardless of background or circumstance — can make the most of their education and go on to make a difference in our communities.
Claire believed deeply in the difference nurses make in the world, and we know she would be proud to see this work continue in her name.
