The Big Half 2026 · 6 September 2026 · Start fundraising for this event

SPENCER LYNX, a registered charity, brings together state school children across South London through the sport we love: hockey. Our name reflects one of our key aims, that of forging community 'links'. Inclusivity is at the heart of everything we do. By addressing barriers to participation, we provide opportunities for under-served, inner-city children to be physically active, to develop through sport, and to fulfil their potential. And by bringing together families, we make our community all the stronger and more understanding. OPPORTUNITY: Our free weekly programme provides children with the opportunity to develop their athletic skill and teamwork abilities without the barrier of cost. Additionally, it promotes physical fitness and a sense of community, fostering lifelong friendships and healthy habits from an early age. COMMUNITY: By bringing together families from different areas of our community we provide a space for them to connect, promoting a sense of belonging and community spirit. We also offer accessible opportunities for personal growth, skills development, and healthy recreation, enhancing the overall well-being of the community. INCLUSIVITY: We go the extra mile to make families from all backgrounds feel welcome, respected and that they belong at Spencer Lynx. "When everyone is included, everyone wins." (Jesse Jackson).

Story

I am running the London Big Half 2026 to raise money for SPENCER LYNX, a charity that brings together state school children across South London through a free hockey club, providing an opportunity for under-served children to be active and develop key social skills through sport, and fulfil their potential.

SPENCER LYNX delivers a 2-year weekly programme through which children develop their athletic skill, hand-eye coordination and teamwork abilities without the barrier of cost. Additionally, it promotes physical fitness and a sense of belonging and self-worth, fostering new friendships and healthy habits from an early age.

To give another personal reason to donate, on a long run in my training so far I was bitten by a dog and had to go to hospital! Truly blood, sweat and tears is going into the cause!!

Please support me as I trek 13.1 miles around London, my first half marathon, and support SPENCER LYNX.

Thank you!
