Story
Here we go again…me and my two left feet are once again doing our bit to raise money for the Hospice of the Good Shepherd, this time by throwing myself into Hospice Strictly!
I will never stop shouting about how incredible the Hospice is. In 2024, they cared for my partner Ben at the end of his life, and the compassion, dignity, and support they gave to him (and to me) is something I will always be grateful for. They were a lifeline during the hardest time of our lives, and it really is one of those places you don’t fully understand until you need it.
What many people don’t realise is just how heavily the Hospice relies on fundraising and donations to continue providing this level of care.
For context, I have always had two left feet. My mum denies it, but I'm sure she didn't let me do dancing as a child because of my terrible rhythm and complete lack of grace. Ben, on the other hand, definitely had the smooth moves, so I like to think he’ll be watching, shaking his head at my terrible footwork.
I know so many of you have already been unbelievably generous with my fundraising endeavours, so there is no expectation at all. I’m endlessly grateful for every bit of support that has already been shown, but if you do happen to have any spare pennies - they will all go directly towards helping the Hospice continue its amazing work. And I will continue to do whatever I can to help.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for supporting me, my questionable footwork, and most importantly, this wonderful Hospice 💛

The Hospice of the Good Shepherd provides its services free of charge to its patients and costs £5.6 million to run each year with just 17% of the funding received coming from statutory sources. The remaining 83% is raised from a range of fundraising activities and the support of the generous local community in Cheshire. In addition, they raise money through their local charity shops and weekly lottery.
