Play Action International is a fantastic children’s charity that has become the leading play-based NGO in Uganda, helping children from disadvantaged and refugee communities by installing playgrounds where they are most needed. It is supported by UNICEF, World Vision, UNHCR and Save the Children, to name but a few.

I am excited to be heading to Jinja, Uganda in July 2025 for 4 weeks as a volunteer. I’ll be working in a team to transform an empty field into a colourful new playground. I will also be leading play-based activities through music, art and dance, focussing on the children’s well-being and happiness, particularly those who have suffered trauma.

I am raising funds to help pay for the playground materials, local wages, and other resources. All funds raised go directly to the charity, and I’ll be funding all of my own expenses myself. As part of my fundraising, I am excited to be giving a concert with my family in January and am grateful for any support you can give to this excellent cause!
