Alice Patterson is raising money for Yorkshire Ambulance Service Charity

Skydive to raise money for Yorkshire Ambulance Service Charity · 29 June 2026

Join us on Monday 29th June 2026 at Hibaldstow Airfield in Lincolnshire. Where we are inviting you to take to the skies, to do the UK's highest skydive, and help raise funds for Yorkshire Ambulance Service Charity.

Story

On Monday 29th June 2026, I will be taking on my first ever skydive. To be completely honest, I am absolutely terrified — but I am even more excited to be doing it in support of an incredible cause: the Yorkshire Ambulance Service Charity.

This charity is particularly close to my heart because, through my role with the Yorkshire Ambulance Service, I have the privilege of working alongside the YAS Charity team and the Community Engagement team. Every single day, I see first-hand the dedication, compassion and commitment of my colleagues and our amazing Community Engagement Volunteers.

They go above and beyond to empower people in our communities with the confidence and knowledge to act when it matters most. They teach members of the public how to perform CPR correctly, apply basic first aid, respond effectively during a medical emergency, employability skills, and even help vulnerable members of the public feel more comfortable in an ambulance environment. They also inspire the next generation to consider an exciting and rewarding career within the ambulance service.

These sessions are delivered completely free of charge, yet the impact is priceless. The skills they teach save lives.

Thanks to the support of Yorkshire Ambulance Service Charity, thousands of people across the region have already learned life-saving skills. The charity has also helped fund public access defibrillators in communities across Yorkshire and supports initiatives that improve the lives of vulnerable people while helping to reduce health inequalities.

Quite simply, many of these vital community programmes would not be possible without the charity’s support.

Every pound raised through this skydive will help Yorkshire Ambulance Service Charity continue its incredible work — supporting ambulance service staff and volunteers, expanding community education, and ensuring more people across Yorkshire have the knowledge and confidence to save a life.

So, while jumping out of a plane may be one of the most frightening things I have ever done, it feels worth it to support a cause that truly makes a life-saving difference every single day.
