Story
I am running the RobinHood half marathon to raise funds for Brain Tumour Research UK. Brain cancer is one of the deadliest and yet only recieves 1% of the national spend of cancer research.
This cause is very close to my heart, as my mum was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2008. For the past 17 years—throughout my entire adult life—she has continued to undergo treatment. The options and treatments available to her now are already far better and less invasive than they were in 2008.
While the journey has been incredibly tough and she is still fighting, it’s wonderful to know that Brain Tumour Research UK continues to fund life-changing research. I’m running this half marathon for my mum, and for everyone living with a brain tumour, in the hope of a cure, or options that make the journey more bearable.
