Story

I am taking on the iconic London Marathon on 27th April 2025 to raise vital funds for Cornwall Hospice Care. By sponsoring me you will make a huge difference to someone in Cornwall facing a terminal illness right now. Your donation will help fund the hospice nurses enabling them to provide peace, comfort and calm to patients and their families in Cornwall.

Cornwall Hospice Care, particularly Mount Edgcumbe Hospice, holds a special place in my heart. They provided incredible end-of-life care for my grandpa in 2004. Although I was quite young at the time, the compassion and dedication shown by the staff will never be forgotten. The specialist care they gave my grandpa when he had a medical issue with his cancer and needed treatment that the hospital could not complete, meant that he could return home and gave him and my Nana precious time together that they otherwise would never of had. This gift of time was invaluable to the family. Unfortunately, this complication happened again but on this occasion the doctor referred him to the hospital who completed the treatment but not slowly enough which resulted in him passing away. My Nana was and is still extremely grateful for the extra time she got to spend with my grandfather thanks to the wonderful team at the hospice.

The nurses there do an outstanding job, working tirelessly around the clock to support individuals living with terminal illnesses, offering both respite care and end-of-life care and I would be extremely proud to be able to support a charity where all the funds stay in Cornwall.

Your donation will count. The dedicated team of nurses in the two hospices in Cornwall work around the clock to give end of life care to people in our community living with a terminal illness. The hospices are such special places and without our support this wouldn't be possible. Your donation will make such a difference to me in taking o this challenge as well as supporting this charity so close to my heart. Thank you for being the difference.
