#TeamScope London Marathon 2025

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·
I'm running the London Marathon 2025 on behalf of someone very close to me, who has had a huge impact on my life since the day I was born, my uncle, Paul James Donnelly.
Paul was born with Cerebral Palsy and has spent his life in a wheelchair. He has never been able to walk, and also struggles with speech and cognitive mobility, and yet, my family and I have never heard him complain; not once. He is the most positive, kind and generous person we know, and is an inspiration for finding joy with what we have, not what we don't have.
Scope gave Paul a life. He went to work everyday with Scope and found purpose, friends and confidence because of it. My family and I will never be able to repay Scope for all they do for Paul, and others in the UK living with disabilities.
So, I thought the least I could do is run the London Marathon to raise money for Scope and help them on their mission to create a fairer society.
There are 16 million people with disabilities in the UK. That’s one in four of us. Life is harder when you have a disability. You're twice as likely to be unemployed and the cost of living is higher by £975 each month.
Scope’s mission is for people with disabilities to have the same opportunities as everyone else.
We want a future that’s fair to people with disabilities, always. Join me in making this happen.
All funds go directly towards supporting Scope’s vision of a world where disabled people have the same opportunities as everyone else. We campaign relentlessly to create a fairer society, while providing practical and emotional advice and support to disabled people and their families when it’s needed most.
