I decided it was time to do something meaningful, so I signed up for a 5K run to raise money for a charity close to my heart. The run itself will be a challenge, but knowing it’s for a good cause keeps me motivated and pushes me to stay active.

But I didn’t want to stop there not a chance. To boost my fundraising, I organised a bake sale for my workplace and close friends. They get to choose exactly what they want me to bake — from brownies to cupcakes — all at a decent price.

Between training for the run and baking everyone’s favourite treats, my days are busy, but in the best way. Every step I take and every cake I make brings me closer to helping a charity that truly matters.

Physical activity is one of the most powerful tools we have to support young people. It strengthens their physical health, boosts their mental wellbeing, builds confidence and resilience, and helps them feel ready to learn and take part in school life. Yet many children — especially those in disadvantaged communities — still miss out on the positive, active opportunities they deserve.

From 15th June to 15th July, our campaign is bringing schools, families and communities together with one shared goal: to get children moving, participating and thriving, while raising essential funds for local programmes that make a real difference.

Through this campaign, we aim to:

. Inspire more children to be active in ways they genuinely enjoy

. Build long‑lasting healthy habits around movement and sport

. Support community programmes that improve young people’s health, wellbeing and social connections

And the impact of your support is even greater: every pound raised will be doubled through match funding up to £10,000, meaning your contribution goes twice as far in helping children access the opportunities they need.
