The Alina Foundation is a grass-roots charity that provides vital equipment for hospices in Poland. Our mission is to ensure that anyone with a terminal illness and their families and friends have the support they need. Our trustees cover administrative costs, so every penny goes to our work.

Story

Together with my mum and dad I am riding* 1000km from Prague to Krakow to raise funds for Polish and Lithuanian hospices. Please sponsor me and help provide vital medical equipment for families caring for loved ones at home and in residential hospices!

The Alina Foundation was set up in honour of my great-grandmother, Alina. A Polish hospice helped my family care for her during her battle with cancer - without their support we would not have known what to do. Hospices in Poland are very underfunded, yet they provide help that many families cannot otherwise afford or access. The Foundation is run by volunteers, and its directors cover all administrative costs, so anything you donate goes to buying medical equipment for home care and residential hospices.

During the ride we will visit ten hospices and deliver new equipment, including beds and oxygen concentrators. You can follow our progress don the Foundation blog: https://www.alinafoundation.org/blog

Thank you - we appreciate anything you can donate.
