Story
I’m fundraising for Maa, a wonderful charity that supports maternal healthcare across rural Bangladesh. I’ll be going on a two week deployment to Bangladesh at the end of July ان شاء الله.
Their work truly inspires me by helping mothers and babies receive the care, safety, and love they deserve!
As someone with Bengali roots, I’ve always felt deeply connected to the community and the challenges so many families face back home.
🌍 According to the World Health Organisation, women in Bangladesh are 21 times more likely to die from maternal causes compared to the UK.
Maa is a grassroots charity striving to change this reality by providing safe, high-quality maternal care in areas that need it most. Through the JourneyMaa programme, UK students and young professionals have the opportunity to:
🌸 Deliver educational workshops for mothers and local communities
🌸 Support Maa’s maternal health camps and clinics
🌸 Experience first-hand the difference compassionate healthcare can make
The funds raised will go directly towards running these health camps, supporting mothers through safe pregnancy and childbirth. Every contribution, big or small, makes a real difference.
I’m so grateful to be part of this cause and hope, insha’Allah, to give back to the community I came from.
You can help us change the lives of countless mothers. Please support our ground-breaking work by donating!
May Allah reward you for your generosity and support. Ameen. ✨
