Did you know that Alzheimer’s and dementia is the current leading cause of death in the uk?

in 2024, 11.8% of deaths in the uk were of those living with a diagnosis of dementia. Thats 76,000 people. They expect the 2025 statistics to be higher than this, which is simply devastating.

I have worked in a care home for the last 4 and a bit years so I have seen first hand the impact that dementia has not only on those living with it, but their loved ones and those who know them.

Alzheimer’s research UK is the UK’s leading dementia research charity, dedicated to funding scientific studies to find cures, improve diagnosis, and prevent diseases like Alzheimer's.

That is why I have chosen to walk 150 miles in April to raise money and support their cause.
